Andrew Bird at Overture

Remember when I saw Andrew Bird at the Overture Center here in Madison? Well, the videos showed up on Youtube a couple weeks ago, finally. For all of you who have me pegged as a metalhead, well, you're mostly right. Metal is my first love but not nearly all that I listen to. If you ever get the chance to see Andrew Bird I would highly recommend it. See for yourself. I posted this particular video because it has some local chatter at the beginning. And, yes, he mispronounces Monticello on purpose.

It's a wide one, click on it to watch at Youtube.

Just a little blog update

You may or may not have noticed that Odiogo is gone. It was a neat little gadget, but unnecessary. I post more pictures and videos than long, wordy posts.

Also, word verification is now required for all comments. I get so few comments I hate to add the extra step for you legitimate readers, but I have been having to delete too many spam comments lately.

I'm still considering a new template. I really like what I have now, but videos do get cut off a little on the right sometimes. Any opinions?

Keep an eye out for a new blog this spring. Much more niched, it will be about building a raised garden bed and starting our brand new garden! That's the idea, anyway. I'll keep you posted.

That's all, have a nice weekend!

Pic Dump 9

Again a dumping of pics I have collected in my travels for one reason or another. Click the pic for larger size and, as always, some discretion may be advised after the break. Enjoy!

It's the biggest one yet, 40 pics!

The Day the Music Died

"Fifty-one years ago today, a plane crashed shortly after taking off from Clear Lake, Iowa, killing all four people aboard. They were pilot Roger Peterson, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and J.P. Richardson, known as “The Big Bopper.” February 3rd, 1959, became known as The Day the Music Died."

I would have posted this last night, except for Blogger irking me. By the way, we did finally got the car out of the shop this afternoon. All in all, a little less money than I expected which is always a good thing.

New Rob Zombie

Well, here's what I meant to post last night when I had so much trouble. I did a test post and it shows the video on the front page now. I'll have to see why yesterdays post still isn't showing, though. Oh well, on with the show.

Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe 2 was released on Tuesday. 'Sick Bubblegum' has been out for a few weeks but I just found the video today. Perhaps I just wasn't looking in the right place before, or maybe the video was just released this week? Who cares, it's here now (but beware: this is the uncensored version). Enjoy!

I think I got it. Video will not show on this front page if I have a break in the post. I thought I've done that before, but I'll have to check.

Top Ten Sexiest Super Bowl Commercials

Edit: Currently I can't see the video on the front page no matter what I post. If you click 'Read More' below it will show up in the next screen, however.

How could we ever forget the Miller Lite Cat Fight!

See the whole list here.

Not related to this list (at all!), but Bud Light has a funny and successful clothing drive that I've not seen before, after the break:

Car Repairs Ongoing...

The car is still in the shop. 5 days and not much has changed, just had to wait for the part. They finally have the correct hose now and the car should be ready later this evening, they say. My wife and I would rather just pick it up tomorrow after work, so if they call too late that's what we plan to do. We're both tired - always tired during the week. My next post should liven me up a little, though.

Edit: What was supposed to be the next post is being difficult, I'll try what I wanted to do again later, but for now you get Superbowl commercial stuff. Demmit.

Obama Tries To Reach Republicans

Here's my pick of the night. 66 minutes of President Obama addressing the House republicans and pretty much taking them to school. I like this guy. This Q & A is from last Friday.

Car Repairs and the Weekend

We had to have my wife's car towed to the shop Saturday morning. On her way home Friday she had no heat and just as she was getting close to home she said the temperature was getting really high. There was hardly if any coolant left in it when I looked, so I called AAA (they really come in handy sometimes!).

Now I'm hoping we can get the car back tomorrow. There was a broken coolant hose under the engine. Dangest thing, according to the shop. Not the smaller hoses usually found, not the larger hoses usually found, but in between. About 5-8 inches long from what I can gather. They said they've called everywhere but no one has the right size. So we waited until today, when they could get a hold of a dealer. Well the dealer seems to have been not much help at all. It should also be known that the car is a 1997 model and the dealer is dealing with a major recall at the moment.

It not as bad as it could be. My wife and I do work at the same place (different buildings), so we can ride together. But we do have slightly different hours that can be adjusted only temporarily at best. At worst, she'll start work eary (no OT) and I'll have to wait around a while after work for her. Normally am home 15 minutes before she gets off work. We used to drive together when we lived much farther away, but now driving separately doesn't seem like as much of a waste.

Unforeseen Bonus: I get to park my truck in the garage tonight when its snowing. In fact, this is the first time my truck has ever been in the garage!

Other than that a pretty normal weekend. We had lunch with a couple friends, Jerome and Lisa, on Saturday. Just a good little bit of socializing to break up the usual errands and cleaning. We'll get to see them again after work on Friday. There's a little get-together to celebrate Lisa's promotion. Good Luck, Lisa!
