VY Canis Majoris

Here is a good reminder of how insignificant we really are in the universe.  I love these space/perspective things.

How To Measure A Year

Infinity and beyond!  It almost boggles the mind, the vastness and variables...  I love this stuff!

Open Your Eyes

I've really not had much to say recently, so here's a thought...

Google TV

This sounds interesting.  We still just have the 'old' kind of television sets, so perhaps a good thing to have waited to upgrade?  I'm not sure if it is really that innovative or not, I don't know the details.  And again, I don't really watch a lot of movies or tv shows to care too much, yet.

Merlin

A flood of memories when I saw this pic.  We had one when I was a kid and I loved it!!!

The Scale of the Universe

Nothing like a demonstration of the scale of the universe to keep things in perspective...

Man Flu Is No Myth

"Men's ability to turn a sniffle into flu and a headache into a migraine has long been a source of irritation to wives and girlfriends.

But the new research suggests that they are not faking it and that they suffer diseases more seriously and for longer."

I'm posting this because half the time when I'm sick I don't think my wife believes me.

Robot Snow Plow

The robot snow plow!  I want one for next year!  Just make it with a control like a remote control car (easy), or else automated better than that Roomba vacuum.  Where do I sign up?

Poop In Space

Here is a short, funny explanation of how they manage to poop in space and what they do with it. Enjoy your weekend!

Digital Guitar

Is this the future? If so, I hope it is the future of video games and not real music. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Kill Your Online Self Now!

"Tired of your Social Network?

Liberate your newbie friends with a Web2.0 suicide! This machine lets you delete all your energy sucking social-networking profiles, kill your fake virtual friends, and completely do away with your Web2.0 alter ego. The machine is just a metaphor for the website which moddr_ is hosting; the belly of the beast where the web2.0 suicide scripts are maintained. Our service currently runs with Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and LinkedIn! Commit NOW!"

Me speaking:
Facebook is retaliating! The web's Suicide Machine may be shut down by midnight Monday! If you want to kill your online self then act fast!!! (My first scoop! lol)

I don't really have anything against any of those sites. As long as I'm not expected to take part. I found my little online expression with this blog and that's good enough for me. But I do hear of how people are always connected- always updating their 'status.' I wonder to myself how much time they spend on it and what real part of life is missing because of it. Maybe I just don't understand...

Space: Frontiers and Beyond

I'll take the time for a 'proper' post tomorrow evening. So, while I procrastinate one more day, please enjoy this!

Also, here's a pic of all the space missions.  Click to enlarge. I hope blogger uploads original size.

Earth Rings?

Here's a view of Earth if it had Saturn's rings. Fictional, yet fantastic. Just imagine, if it were real we wouldn't think anything of it. Besides, what else are you doing for the next 3 minutes?

Origin of the Universe

I watched this last night as well. A very comprehensible talk on the origin of the universe. This fascinated me.

Just because I find Space fascinating, that's why.
