My wife and I were going to go to my Mom's on Saturday, but now we have a snowstorm coming so I will be going down for a bit tomorrow and Kate will stay behind as she had other plans that day. So, nothing too exciting around here, I'm just happy for four days off from work.
I've not checked the trail camera yet, but the critters have a ways to go on the pumpkin. The innards and seeds were the first to go, but somehow I still may not be surprised if a pumpkin vine tries growing next year. It will surely get weeded out early in favor of wildflowers, anyway.
Enjoy the day, everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving! Hoping you can muster good memories of happier times amongst what I imagine is the current sadness.

You beat me to the punch, BW! (comment copied from last post)
Thank you, I'm hoping for the best today but it will be emotional. And cold. The 10-day shows no temperatures above freezing. We are definitely in winter now, and with 3-5 inches expected on Saturday we will surely look the part.
Happy Thanksgiving. Sorry Kate can't make it tomorrow! Hugs, Mom
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope you had a reflective but positive day overall. Enjoy your time with your Mom.
Our weather is headed in the same direction... and our 3 year old boiler (which does the central heating and hot water) has died. Fortunately it has a 7 year warranty which covers all labour and parts, but that's not much good when they can't get here with the new insides that it needs until next Thursday (Day 13 after it leaked). They don't make things like they used to... luckily we had future-proofed and have some other ways of space heating and the ability to heat water with electricity, but it's still very cold.

The gatherings the last two days went well, thank you. Just got in from clearing snow for the first time. Expected totals have risen, so maybe 8-10 inches total expected now through tomorrow morning.
That's a long time to go without your main source of heat. We think about that, our furnace (and AC) are very old. Service would happen quickly if something happened, but hopefully we can just upgrade them at a more hospitable time of year. Good luck, BW.
